Nerves - Rejection - Fear of Failure - Judgment
All can make an interview go horribly wrong. On 12 August, attendees of the Twin Cities IT Alumni Association event "Dynamic Interviewing for IT Professionals" discovered how to banish those four interview fatalities - but more than that - learned how to become the solution interviewers look for in a job candidate.
Dean & Pete of SagePresence taught the presentation tricks they had developed for actors and covert government agents to an attentive roomful of alumni and students from numerous metro-area colleges and universities. SagePresence offers a unique approach to interviewing - in the words of one attendee, "[I] expected standard responses - this was an entirely new approach."
The IT event, held at Anok Ramsey Community College offered a free buffet dinner, a free copy of 101 Ways to Dead-end Your IT Job, and a dessert reception and demonstration of 3-D printing in addition to the presentation.
TCITAA will present an IT Experts panel on Cloud Computing and what it means to the future of IT jobs on Weds., 15 October. In addition, recruiters from Twin Cities businesses will offer insider information on how they use the web to find job candidates and offer insights on the online pitfalls to avoid and the tactics to use when pursuing a job position.
